Took this photo on January 3rd, 2012 on the beach with my sister in Montecito, CA. We had driven down the day before from San Francisco where we spent an invigorating, delicious and inspiring New Year’s Eve.
I have tended to recap my years on this here square inch of internet I call my own. I kept meaning to do it in the last days of 2011 but it just got away from me. Suffice to say 2011 was a huge year full of big changes. My quasi-resolution, shared with a friend, was to do things that scared us in 2011. My list of accomplishments on this front includes: performing in Cabaret, cutting my hair short, moving to LA, starting grad school, riding a bike and asking a guy out. Victories both small and big, but equally notable. I have ended 2011 and started 2012 happier, more relaxed, energetic and productive than I have maybe ever been. I feel centered and content, not things that I have felt at all in the past 6ish years, and damn does that feel good!
I made a list not of resolutions, but of values, things to keep in mind, small reminders for 2012 and I would like to share it:
Scary things, dancing, dates, vinyl, candles, home, mornings, yoga, clean, honesty, books
I have never been so relaxed, well-fed, productive, rested, calm and happy as I have been in 2012.
And I’m just making a note of it because that’s all going to go to shit when a new semester starts tomorrow.
